Harry Potter 7...

...OHMYGAWRSH. It was so good! I went to the midnight showing, and that was the most exciting line I've ever been in. I loved it! You haven't seen it? Go. Now. Like, RIGHT NOW. I am still in shock, and that was Thursday night! EEK! So good! Well, all except for that one part, which was really not that great. But, oh, I love it!

Ode To My Hair

A little background info: I'm getting my hair cut really short on Tuesday. In two days. And when I say "short", I mean SHORT. I'm donating over a foot of hair to Locks of Love. Ouch.

Ode to my Hair:
I stink at poetry, so I am truly sorry you have to settle for less, my dear hair. You have literally hung by me through thick and thin, though I am proud to say that you are neither. In the winter you were beautiful and dark, my protection from the cold. In the summer you are my pride and joy, with natural streaks of auburn, red, and blonde. Over our last few days together I have fixed you up in all the ways I was never corageous enough to do up 'till now: I'm doing my hair like I'm dieing, to make up for all the times I let you hang limply by my side. I'm sorry I was never brave or confident enough to give you the respect you deserve. You are surely a red rose among weeds, oh dearest hair! I remember the time I took you to the salon and got you braided around my head like I was Princess Leah Organa, but only now do I marvel that you were able to do such a thing. I was too nervous to wear you to school that way, for fear that my peers would laugh. But I do wish now that I had shown you off to the multitudes! You shone like a star on that beautiful weekend, and I was too worried that you would blind my friends. But now I know better. You will soon be gone and resting upon the head of another, more needy person. I bid you a fond farewell in the hopes that you will serve my fellow man well. I shall miss you, dearest hair! I shall love you always! Goodbye!

Vibram Five Finger shoes

I went on The Stacks yesterday, and there was a girl talking about the Vibram Five Finger shoes she got recently. Of course, I looked them up. Holy cow! Those are COOL! Here's a picture:

Here's a good place to read about them: TADA!
Oh, and P.S., they're $100. ;D

T21 Traveling Afghan Project

So I was looking at other people's blogs, and I found one by a lady who's son had Down syndrome. The most recent blog post was, of course, "T21 Traveling Afghan" What is that, I wondered? So I looked it up. You can read about it here. It's really cool! It's an Afghan and a journal in a box being sent all over the US and to other countries. The box is sent to people who have signed up who have family members with Down syndrome. In the journal, they write about their expirience with that family member. The afghan is there because...because they want it to be. The children (well, any age, really) can have pictures taken with the afghan, whatever they want. Then they send it on to the next person on the list. It's really cool! Check it out!

Life is a journey

~~~Yesterday I was feeling all down and depressed and bad for myself because of that darn OBSESSION that I CANNOT let go of!! Harry Potter obsession, by the way. I feel like I am in handcuffs or stranded on a deserted island! I have NO interaction with the rest of the world. NONE! WHATSOEVER! So I was feeling all bad, and I even composed a pretty bleak poem about it....when I went downstairs to watch TV. I mean, what else was I supposed to do? So when I turned the TV on, you know what was playing? A show called "Rethinking Happiness" all about happiness, where it comes from, and how to get it. I nearly cried! Oh my goodness! WOW! They talked about self-help stuff (which is really popular right now), Positive Therapy, Forgiveness Therapy, all of that stuff. The moral of the story was: "Life is a journey, and happiness is what happens when we travel it together." Cool.
~~~On to the stuff I'm REALLY excited about: flying! Just a couple of days ago, our neighbor Brother Grier (who is consequently a PILOT) took me and Dad flying in his plane. A Piper Cherokee 235, to use the proper term. My favorite. For those of you who know me REALLY well, I have wanted to be a pilot in the Air force for a really long time. And here I was, soaring through the air in a four-seater private plane! OMC! Brother Grier signed me up for the Young Eagles, a group of young flight enthusiasts. The benefits of being in this group:
1. Your name is put in the BIGGEST logbook in the world
2. You get FREE textbook flight training online, whenever you want. Retail value:$199.00 Totally free.
3. And lots of other stuff I can't remember...at the moment :D
~~~Isn't that awesome? I get the textbook classes for free! I don't have to pay anything! And By the time I finish, I will have enough money to pay for the rest! YAY!
xX very eventful week Xx
First, I went to the Breakfast of Champions! *gasp* That's the first time in my life! I'm so proud! Andrew Deakin, who we live by, talked to all of us, and guess what? HE QUOTED DUMBLEDORE!! OMC! I know! And then the district attorney or something talked to us and said that we should all be like Jo Rowling. I almost typed Draco Malfoy right there... :O Yes, let's all be like Draco Malfoy: attempt to kill Dumbledore multiple times, and become a Death Eater. NO. But how awesome is that?! My friend Sidney said she could feel my excitement radiating through the room. I nearly shrieked! How awesome!
Later that day, I had a piano recital. I nearly chewed my fingers off, I was so nervous. But it went well. Now for the really scary part: When they played Canon in D or something like that, I imagined I was dancing. In the rain on the corner of a cobble stoned street in France at sunset. But you know who I was dancing with? The *cough* affore mentioned murderer/Death Eater. He was the only person I could imagine dancing with! Not Connor B., not Harry, not High King Peter the Magnificent. No. It was him. I've lost my mind!
And earlier this week we got a letter in the mail. There was a fancy embossed H on the front. Jason freaked out (I wasn't home). He thought it was my letter from Hogwarts. Actually, it was a wedding announcement. When I got home, the envelope was so mangled that it was indistinguishable.
Yesterday I got my hair done like Princess Leah: A braid all the way around my head! IT IS SO COOL! I love it! I would post a pic but I can't find a camera...sad!
My Birthday List
I know my birthday isn't for four 1/2 weeks, but I am so excited! 13! WOW. So here's my list:
1. Book of Mormon novel version...yes it does exist
2. The AWESOME quidditch watch
3. A rubber band ball (I love those things!)
So there you have it. My dad insisted that the BoM be first, otherwise quidditch watch would be up on top. But NOOOO, he's only going to buy me #1.... ;)
Really mad...
A little background info...(it's a little embarrassing but oh well.) in my journal I star all the boys that I meet, example: Rigby Rhodes ***,or three stars. That's how it works.
So on Friday in P.E. we were playing four square. Me, Melissa Farley, What's-His-Name, Taylor Francom, Dakota, and Caleb. Taylor and What's-His-Name were REALLY good, getting the rest of us out left and right. I would have been OK with it, and so would be everyone else, but they kept saying stuff like "I can't believe he fell for it", "Gets 'em every time", or "I can't believe that worked!" Most of it was directed at poor Dakota. He was feeling really bad, because he would be in for like five seconds, and then he would be out. "That gets him EVERY TIME!" Oh my goodness, it made me so mad at those people. They were making fun of Dakota's weaknesses! Taking advantage of him just so they could have a chance to laugh! As me and Dakota were walking away, What's-His-Name called, "No, we're sorry! Come back Meagan! We'll stop!" I just turned around and shouted, "You people think you are so good, don't you?" And I left. I hope I did the right thing...
So in my journal, this is what I put: Taylor Francom **. Because he is slightly cute (owing to the fact that he has RED HAIR), funny, smart, and he doesn't dress weird. Yesterday I would have given him five stars for all of the above reasons and because at the time he seemed nice. Now I don't think so.
Sunday
You know, I have been so happy over the past couple of days, but today we watched The Testaments and at the part where they hang Jesus on the cross, I started to cry. He has done so much for me and all I can do is obsess over Harry Potter and France! What is up with me? I don't even read my scriptures...I'm mad at myself.
I have now started to write a book! No way! A book! My dream has come true! I am so proud of me... ;)
Random thoughts
Hello everybody this is Meagan. I am having a really random day... I want to read percy Jackson (even though it is a really immature. Book and I don't like it), I want to look at art, I want to draw, I want to ride a horse, I want to go to mugglenet, I want to-you know, I think I'm going to check my email. Bye!
The music man
Tonight me and Cayden tryed out for a play called "The Music Man". I am so proud of him! We were so worried that he was going to back out at the last minute, but he didn't! Yay! I tryed out for that "Ye Gads!" lady. It was pretty fun/nervewracking, and I loved it! Just so you know, at this moment I am proudly listening to Pottercast. Pretty cool!
Jazz game
Yesterday me and my team went to the Jazz game. It was pretty funny, as we walked from where we were parked to the Energy Solutions Arena, we saw a guy holding a sign that said "Why lie
I need beer"
The Junior Jazz seats are at the very top of the stadium, which is a long walk up very steep stairs. Those stairs scare me really bad. So I went and bought some ice cream, and when I started to walk up the stairs I decided it was better to go fast and get it over with rather than go slow and fall down them backwards. I ran. On the fourth step, I tripped and my ice cream went flying! It hit the edge of a stair and broke in half, the bottom half of the cone going left, and the top half and my $3.00 cookie dough ice cream going right! I hurried and grabbed the bottom half and my ice cream and put them back to gether, and then I panicked. I wrapped the ice cream in my napkin. Of all the stupid things to do, why that? So I smiled at the lady sitting there, and walked, very slowly, back to my seat. Embarassing! But again I use my famous line: "I'm Meagan!"
Basketball is over!
Today me and my team played basketball with four players against five. Don't ask me where the other three people went, 'cause I don't know. It was a great game, we were playing hard, but it was not to last. I had three fouls, Megan B. Had four, Makenna had three, and Rabecca none. We were all trying really hard not no foul, but with 12.8 seconds left on the clock, Makenna made two fouls in quick succession, and fouled out. We only had three players left. Refs were phoning people and checking the rule book, in the hopes that we could play with three in those last few seconds. Too bad. We lost the game with 19 to 18 in our favor. We won and we lost.
So happy!!
A little while ago me and my Language arts class had to write a biography about a famous person who died and I chose J.R.R. Tolkien. It tortured me to have to pick up a pencil and write the rough draft. Don't get me wrong, I love writing, but with a pencil is just too much. It hurts my hand. So I procrastinated and held it off for a while until my parents found out and told me I HAD to finish. So I did and I turned it in thinking "Yeah it's OK..."
When I got home my mom was standing on the deck talking on the phone. When she came back in she said "You know who I was talking to?" It was my Language arts teacher calling to ask my mom if I had copied from a book on my report. When my mom said that I felt really scared and was so worried that I was in BIG trouble. When she told my teacher she didn't know, my teacher said that she had checked out the book I used for research and I had not copied anything. She then asked if my mom had written it, and mommy said no. You know what my teacher said then? That my choice of words and sentence structure were amazing, that I really have a gift and that I should continue on and keep getting better. She thought that I was really good! Mommy said that my teacher was relieved that it was my work and that she was excited that I could write so well. OH MY CHEESE!!! Mom called Grandma Henderson and Cami to tell them the news, and Cami said that some day I'm gonna "go put Twilight to shame"! YEAH!!!
Mommy also said that today she went to this craft store and saw a tile that said in Vinyl lettering: "Don't make me use my wand!" How cool!! I want it! Anyway, really great day! I feel so proud! Mommy took us to Artic Circle to get a shake to celebrate!
France and all things French
Two days ago Ben, my Aunt Ashley's brother, and his girlfriend (I think)came to have dinner with us. At my Grandma's house. Turns out Karin (his "girlfriend") has gone to France for foreign study and has a blog about it!! She gave me the URL and told me how to find the France stuff. Before then I knew I wanted to go to France, but now I know that I want to REALLY REALLY BAD!! Other people might say that and not really mean that, but this is one of my "I will go, I will do!" moments. I WILL GO AND DO.
Me and Aunt Cami talked about the fabled "Koralewski Summer Camp", and for all you of my cousins out there, THIS IS SERIOUS STUFF. I mean it. I will post the list of totally fun summer stuff at a later time when we have decided when everything is going to happen in that short period of one or two days, but I am so excited!! So excited!!
Thursday, February 25, 2010
Today I had a choir concert with a solo in it and it was very cool standing up in front of people and SINGING!! INTO A MICROPHONE!! IN FRONT OF LOTS OF PEOPLE!! I'm so proud of me...but here's the part I wanted to tell you about: After the concert was over I went to tell my teacher thanks for all she did for us and how fun it was and stuff....and when I turned around, who should be standing there but-no way-Mark!! The kid who takes me to my classes and gets my stuff for me and stuff!! If you want more info email me...I have a whole lot to say. So anyway he was standing there looking sort of sheepish with his arms open like he was asking me for a HUG. OMC NO WAY. But there he was! So I sort of *hugged* him really fast and said "You did great Mark" (he had a solo too) and I walked away. Talk about EMBARRASSING!!
I AM SO STINKIN MAD!!! Or at least really scared and interpreting it wrong...But there is a CHURCH OF GOOGLE!! They believe that Google is God and that "She" is all-knowing. They have prayers to Google and everything!! They even converted the Lord's Prayer to Google worshiping terms! Isn't that just stinking WRONG? They deny God and all other worshiped beings because they cannot be scientifically proven! How sad! Lunatics...
HARRY POTTER DEATHLY HALLOWS UPDATE:
Producer David Barron made a snap decision not to write snow scenes into the plot. He says:
"If we had the likelihood is that by the time we filmed them, the snow would have gone. We have only lost half a day's filming because of the snow."
Instead of shooting the scheduled outdoor sequences last week, the team moved back inside the studios and completed scenes on the giant Hogwarts Great Hall set.
As he prepared to act out a dramatic scene in the battle against Voldemort, Daniel revealed that audiences can expect a change of scene when the first part of the finale is released later this year. He said:
"Part I is a road movie. We are not in Hogwarts at all and it's going to look very different, and the action is going to be pretty extraordinary."
-Mugglenet.com
Thank goodness I go to mugglenet daily, otherwise I wouldn't have a reason to be MAD!! How are they going to make all those important snow scenes work? Like when Harry jumps into the pool to get the sword, he said it was COLD. Now how are they going to make that work, huh? Why in the wizarding world would Ron bother to save Harry if he didn't think that he might be COLD? What about the snow?! Angry!!
Sunday, January 10, 2010
Oh, and today, I put the song Harry's Wondrous World on our spare cellular device. It's a pretty sweet ring tone! (; If anyone wants it I can text it to you!! The phone will let me send ring tones! SWEET!
Last night the Bradfields (our neighbors and friends) came over for a game night. I was really excited to play and all, but I never expected what I would do. We played Scum, with Moi as President. Sweet! Well, I was president for 2 rounds, and then Daddy the commoner beat me big time. We didn't stay long enough to feel bad about it though. We then played a game called Things. It was sooo fun! The whole time, all I could think of was Harry Potter-big surprise-and therefore got out first every time because who else would say "Harry Potter details, background, and meanings" on "Things you wish you'd been taught in school"? Me and this other Harry Potter fan, Mariah, got talking, and she said something about being "Lord Voldemort". I don't remember how it came up, but that's what she said to me. Soon after, we got the question, "things you notice about yourself as you get older" and from the pile came things like "That wasn't there last Sunday!", "Gravity" and my favorite, "I'm Lord Voldemort and stuff. It's very nice." My dad was the one reading them for us, and I sat next to him, so my turn came first. Of course I knew who had said it, but all I could do was point at her, I was laughing to hard to do anything else. Mommy says that I was laughing for at least 5 minutes, no exaggeration. I couldn't do anything about it, either! I was tearing up, falling under the table, and everything else! Finally Mariah's sister said, "Was it the Voldemort one?" All I could do was nod. Now, one day later, a paper that reads, "I'm Lord Voldemort and stuff. It's very nice." hangs on my wall in Mariah Bradfield's handwriting.
Saturday, January 9, 2010
I was at Young Women's this time, but I came across a scripture that said we should put the gospel before worldly things, that building our testimony is more important that riches or pleasure. That got me thinking, and all of a sudden I felt horribly guilty that I read Harry Potter more that my scriptures! I'm trying really hard to remind myself to read the Book of Mormon at least 45 minutes every day. It's so hard though! My mom keeps saying, "Meagan, reality first!" and that is so true, but so difficult.
Now I have something else to tell you. I am saving my money so that I can go to the Harry Potter 7 part 2 world premier (if they delete the nude scenes) , even though you have to be invited or win some sweepstakes. Pretty wimpy. So here are my plans for all three situations (yes, all three.) :
SECRET STRATEGY #1: I will write tons of letters to Jo Rowling so she knows who I am and we are fairly well aquainted, and then I'm going to ask her to invite me to go to the world premier and the money I've got will pay for the expenses.
SECRET STRATEGY #2: I will spend weeks entering for the Warner Bros. sweepstakes, each time under a different email adress. It'll take LOTS and LOTS of time, but I'm willing to take the effort. If I'm lucky, I will have the majority of the drawing filled, and therefore have a bigger chance of getting there.
SECRET STRATEGY #3: If neither of my other Secret Strategies don't work, I will put all this money into college savings. Waht college will I go to, you wonder? BYU, because not only are they totally wicked awesome, but they also have a QUIDDITCH TEAM. Want to know more, go to www.collegequidditch.com. It's pretty cool. Too bad I missed the World Cup...*sniffle*
Niow that you know my brilliant plans you have to know how much money I've saved, or at least as close as I'm willing to tell: over $250.oo, but under $3oo.oo since August first. Sweet huh? I know!
Tuesday, January 5, 2010
I was reading the Book of Mormom the other day, and I read a scripture that said "Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall recieve more of my word? Know ye not that the testimony of two nations is a witness unto you that I am God, that I remember one nation like unto another? " (2 Nephi 29:8) That was really cool, because that was like assurance that Heavenly Father is there, and that this church is true. Cause we've got the Bible, AND the Book of Mormon! I like that scripture.
Sunday, January 3, 2010
Hi, Meagan here! Mom said I could make my own blog, as long as I used it as a journal, so that's what I'm doing. If you're reading it, please post comments, because I just love it when people tell me their outlook on my thoughts! I am going to try my hardest to tell the truth on here, so here are some truths you might as well know:
  1. I absolutely love Harry Potter! Not the actor (I wish I could kick Daniel Radcliffe but he'd probably sue me), the books. I am a HUGE fan! Luna Lovegood, Ginny Weasley, and Hermione Granger are my favorite characters, and (Cami, I admit it) I have a crush on Draco Malfoy.
  2. I love to read. Reading basically sums up my life, except for the fact that reading has nothing to do with spending time with my absolutely wonderful family. I read.....16/6! It would be 24/7, but that's over-exaggerating, seeing as I don't read on Sundays and I have to sleep and eat, which takes about 2 hours total.
  3. I love to spend time with my family, extended family included, because they are just so awesome! Yes, my parents, brothers, and sisters really have no idea, but I love to be with them. Especially when we're doing things. (:
  4. I am really spastic when you get to know me(or at least that's what my swimming teacher said), but around new people, I'm really quiet and shy. Since I technically already know my blog, you're probably going to see some spaz here and there.
  5. I have a bad temper. It doesn't show lots of the time, but when my brothers annoy me, I get mad! I haven't hurt anybody for a while, thank goodness, and my temper's getting better. Now I just walk away (most of the time)!
  6. I love Veggie Tales. Especially the Ballad of Little Joe. OK...that's the only one I've seen, but that music video in the middle is HILARIOUS!!
Now that I've told you those 6 important things, you know me pretty well. Mostly. Oh, and I love adjectives like flaccid. So now that I've given you the basic spiel, welcome to My blog!
PS: Like my blog name? (;
